Exile Villify

Reliving heartache... unexpectedly. Something you thought you'd gotten rid of.... returns with a vengeance; turns out to be a perpetual pain, inescapable. Gasp. Exile the regret, villify if necessary. It still doesn't work. The heart watches it all with a thousand eyes.

Love, Love, Love

Happy Valentine's Day!

I have to say, I love Valentine's Day, regardless of relationship status. It's a day dedicated to love. And in this day and age of modern indifference and emotional apathy, I think it's a much-needed day, whether it has corny connotations or not!

And no matter how many times I get my heart broken, I can never give up on Love. The lows are low, but the highs - well they are so worth it. How could it be possible to fall out of love with love?

To love!

'Love, love, love...'

'All the very best of us
string ourselves up for love...'

This is just a big, happy, smiley, cheesy celebration of love that you just can't help but sing along with! It might even make you smile :)  ~ Love is Endless

Happy New Year

Two songs for New Year's. The first, The Goo Goo Dolls' 'Better Days' for its embodiment of hope at this time of year,  'for tonight's the night the world begins again...':

and then The National's 'Blank Slate' , with its brilliant resolution refrain: 'Gonna be a blank slate/gonna wear a white cape'... I dare you to get that one out of your head now you've heard it!

Fake Empire

I can't believe I haven't posted The National here yet, my favourite modern band.

Morose and miserable, they describe disillusion (and everything starting with 'dis') like no one else. Into the winter season we go:
